Research in the Rheumatology division is divided into two major types, basic science and clinical investigation. Basic scientists in the Division are involved in examining the molecular basis of inflammation and control of the immune system, whereas clinical investigators are interested in examining the etiology and pathogenesis of the various rheumatic diseases and in evaluating the efficacy of new therapies. More detailed descriptions of the research programs of each faculty member are available by following the links to either BASIC SCIENCE or CLINICAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH.
